About FWCL
The Friends of the Walnut Creek Library is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting and improving library services in Walnut Creek. The Friends of the Walnut Creek Library are the advocacy group for continued and expanded support of our local library, which is a core institution of our City.
Our Purpose
The Friends of the Walnut Creek Library is a community-based membership organization that supports library collections, services and programs, as well as extended library hours.

Maintain a bookstore that serves our community
Develop membership to build a strong base of support
Forge partnerships with community groups and agencies
Cultivate new leadership and active participation
Our Activities
We are best known for our Friends Bookstore. We sell gently used books at very reasonable prices.
Volunteer Opportunites
Many of our members volunteer regularly, especially to operate the Friends Bookstore—either by sorting donated books or by helping with sales, both in the store at the library or online. We also welcome volunteers to represent our group at community activities or to assist with publicity and Friends programs.
Our Funds Support Improvements
Our funds support the Walnut Creek Library.
